The Belarus Culture Days In The UAE

The Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development Noura Al Kaabi and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus HE Yuri Bondar inaugurated the Belarus Culture Days in the UAE. The event, held at the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, featured the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus and Emirati musicians and composers. The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials from both countries along with a number of ambassadors to the UAE.
HE Noura Al Kaabi made the opening speech in which she stressed the importance of these Belarusian cultural days as one of the manifestations of the strong relations between the two countries, which have been evolving at an accelerated pace during the last few years.
Commenting on the event, Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, said:
“’The Belarus Culture Days in the UAE is an initiative to strengthen cultural relations with the Republic of Belarus following a memorandum of understanding that was signed between the two countries. This collaboration opens up new avenues of cultural cooperation and allows our counterparts in Belarus to take a closer look at our rich civilization, heritage and arts. The program creates an engaging cultural dialogue between intellectuals and artists from the two countries.”
Al Kaabi emphasized the significance of cultural days and their role in building bridges of creative experiences and strengthening the UAE’s standing as a leading global destination for cultural diversity and promoting its position on the world cultural map.
She explained that culture and art are tools for establishing a collective vision that opens a new chapter of cooperation. They create common spaces for action and provide a strong impetus to cement the friendly relations between the UAE and Belarus.
HE Al Kaabi went on to express her pride in the dazzling performances by young UAE musicians during the ceremony as they exhibited national talents’ capabilities for creativity and innovation.
Yuri Bondar, Minister of Culture of Belarus said: “We are proud to present the first ever Belarus Culture Days in the UAE during this Year of Tolerance and we are happy to make together with our Emirati colleagues a positive “cultural” contribution to the excellent relations between Belarus and the UAE”.
The inauguration ceremony featured an audience pleasing performance by the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus led by Maestro Yevgeny R. Boskov, accompanied by Emirati musicians Hamad Al Tai and Ibrahim Al Junaibi on the piano, who performed pieces of their own composition.
on January 31, the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi will host a visual arts exhibition featuring 36 pieces by Belarusian artists, in addition to a forum featuring Maestro Yevgeny R. Boskov, Emirati musicians Hamad Al Tai and Ibrahim Al Junaibi, and a musical workshop on string instruments by Maestro Yevgeny R. Boskov which will be attended by university students. Belarus will also hold a handcraft workshop addressed to people of determination and autistic patients.
The program of the Belarus Culture Days in the UAE includes two additional concerts on February 1st at the House – Sharjah, and the second on February 2nd at The One & Only Royal Mirage in Dubai.
