Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Visits Summer Camp at Ajman Cultural Centre

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the chairman of the Ajman Tourism Development Department, visited the Summer Camp organized by the Ministry of Culture at the Ajman Cultural Centre. This year’s camp, launched in early July with the slogan “Our Summer is Happiness,” was held in collaboration with Sandooq Al Watan.
H.H. Al Nuaimi was received by His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and Dr. Muna Obaid Al Suwaidi, Programmes and Projects Advisor for the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Cultural and Creative Industries Sector in the Ministry of Culture. They were accompanied by the Chairman of the Summer Camp’s Organising Committee, His Excellency Ahmed Al Raisi, his deputy, Mr. Ali Al Shamsi, and Mrs. Badriya Al Hosani, Director of the Ajman Cultural Centre.
Al Nuaimi was welcomed by a special recitation by the “Poet of Ajman.” He then passed by the Heritage Corner, where participating children performed popular songs. He also visited the exhibition of ancient heritage collectibles and viewed the products of the drawing and handicrafts workshop.
Al Nuaimi additionally listened to a singing segment performed by the artist Jassim Mohammed and watched other performances by the participants. He praised the lecture “Our Emirati Dialect” presented by veteran Emirati playwright Abdullah Saleh. Al Nuaimi also watched the “Skills of Adventurers” segment and the plastic arts exhibition, which included paintings by artist Imad Jaafar.
H.H. Al Nuaimi concluded his visit by reviewing the electronic games workshop, where participants made robots. The workshop also hosted a dialogue session attended by senior citizens and youth, which was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Community Development.
The Ministry of Culture launched the fifth edition of the Summer Camp for the year 2024, which continues until July 31. The aim of the camp is to build the capabilities of community members, boost their knowledge, and strengthen their identity and culture. The Camp participants learn skills to enable their participation in the nation-building process towards a bright and sustainable future of the UAE.
The camp embodies the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to providing a stimulating and encouraging environment for all members of society from the age of 6 to senior citizens over the age of 60. The camp helps enhance their skills and capabilities by providing an integrated set of activities within 216 events, including interactive workshops, specialised training courses, and several meetings and tours, in partnership with other entities in the country.
