Reading Race

Reading Race

مدرسة المواكب الخوانيج

March 21, 2025 - March 21, 2025

09:30 AM - 11:30 AM

As part of Reading Month, the ‘Reading Race’ was launched as an exciting and thrilling event presented by Mr. Akram Matar, targeting sixth and seventh-grade boys. The aim was to motivate students to read in innovative and enjoyable ways, enhance their reading and comprehension skills, and at the same time encourage students to interact and compete with a spirit of cooperation and challenge. The winner was the one who read the most books and provided the best summary. Reading is not just a journey of exploration but a race toward knowledge and learning, and the ‘Reading Race’ was distinguished by its enthusiastic atmosphere that filled the library corridors. The competition was organized in a way that tracked the number of books each student read and the quality of the summaries they provided. The teacher encouraged students to choose a variety of books, including literature, general knowledge, and biographies, to embark on different intellectual adventures. At the end of the race, the most distinguished students were honored with ‘Reading Ambassador’ medals in the presence of the judging panel, represented by the heads of the department, Mr. Steven and Ms. Mona, and the subject coordinator, Mr. Hassan, in appreciation of the students’ efforts and dedication in this knowledge journey. The ‘Reading Race’ proved that when competition is coupled with learning, it becomes a motivation for progress and excellence, turning reading into an unforgettable experience.
