The Ministry of Culture honoured the winners of the Zero Bureaucracy Award at a ceremony held at the Ajman Creative Centre. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture; His Excellency Mohammed Bin Taliah, the Chief of Government Services of the United Arab Emirates Government; the Directors of various sectors and departments of the Ministry of Culture and representatives of the Zero Bureaucracy Government Team.

The Ministry honoured the award-winning employees for leading the way with Zero Bureaucracy, boosting efficiency, and transforming how work gets done.

The “Zero Bureaucracy Award” aims to motivate government organisations and teams to present innovative ideas that streamline government procedures, enhancing their impact on the nation’s sustainable development. The award promotes an integrated approach that encourages employees to actively participate in enhancing government performance by sharing their ideas and suggestions. In turn, it recognises and honours the most impactful contributions among them.

His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi and His Excellency Mohammed Bin Taliah honoured the Ministry’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Award-winning work teams and organisational units, commending their dedication to improving government work and simplifying customer procedures.

In his speech, His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi said that the Ministry of Culture is committed to launching new initiatives to implement the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. The goal is to increase the involvement of the Ministry’s employees and customers in enhancing the quality of government services, making them faster and more accessible.

His Excellency Al Nakhi said: “The programme represents a national strategy aimed at simplifying government procedures and eliminating unnecessary requirements, aligning with the UAE government’s vision of providing fast and effective services to the community. We are confident that this programme will contribute significantly to achieving the “We the UAE 2031” vision and the “UAE Centennial 2071” goals.

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed bin Taliah stressed the importance of integrating efforts between ministries and federal entities to achieve the goals of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.

“The programme aligns with the wise leadership’s directives to enhance the lives of community members and increase government work flexibility. We aim to boost government performance efficiency by adopting simplified and streamlined procedures and positively impacting the customer experience. This approach emphasises the importance of partnering with customers to eliminate bureaucracy by actively seeking their feedback and suggestions and fostering open communication channels.”

In November 2023, the UAE government launched its Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, marking a new phase in enhancing government efficiency, quality, and flexibility. This initiative simplifies and streams government processes by eliminating unnecessary procedures and requirements. Ministries and government agencies have been tasked with implementing the programme, with the goal of cancelling at least 2,000 government procedures, reducing the duration of processes by at least 50%, and removing all unnecessary conditions within one year of the programme’s launch.
