Sheikh Nahyan: The UAE’s Constant Participation In La Biennale Di Venezia Aims To Reflect Emirati Culture And Arts To The World

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, confirmed that the Emirati artistic scene reflects the creativity and freedom of thought practiced in the UAE, which has helped in the production of high-end cultural and artistic works internationally representing the UAE. In the UAE, art, like culture, receives the attention and appreciation of the wise leadership and various institutions concerned with culture and arts. Confirming the role of art and its position as one of the main pillars building civilization and contributing to the development and growth of the Emirati society. All of this can be seen in the creative and distinguished works participating in the UAE National Pavilion in la Biennale Di Venezia in its 57nth session under the title Rock, Paper, Scissors: Positions in Play. The UAE National Pavilion is initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development and the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation responsible for commissioning it. “The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development is keen on its yearly participation in la Biennale Di Venezia to support arts and artists and to reflect a vivid picture of Emirati and Arab culture to the world” Said Sheikh Nahyan. He further added “This year’s participation is impressive in all aspects with the participation of a number of Emirati fine artists reflecting the authenticity and creativity of genuine Emirati art.” “Such effective participations create cultural interactions between artists from different backgrounds allowing them to be part of the global cultural movement. It additionally contributes in communicating different cultures and civilizations which positively reflects on various social aspects.” said Sheikh Nahyan. Sheikh Nahyan finally thanked Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan for her prominent role and continuous efforts in the field of culture and arts in the UAE, in addition to her role in the success of the UAE’s participation in previous sessions of la Biennale Di Venezia. He also thanked all bodies, institutions and individuals who were keen on participating in the UAE National Pavilion in la Biennale Di Venezia.
