December 11, 2024

The UAE Embassy in New Delhi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture (MOC) and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), organised the UAE Heritage Day to celebrate the 53rd Eid Al Etihad (UAE National Day). The event was attended by diplomats, senior officials, members of the business community, media representatives, and cultural institution delegates from India.

Hosting the event reflects the embassy’s commitment to showcasing the UAE’s heritage and introducing it to the Indian community. Several recreational, cultural, and heritage activities were held in partnership with national entities, highlighting the authenticity of the UAE’s popular heritage, as well as the customs and traditions of its people.

The celebration featured a section dedicated to women artisans, showcasing a range of traditional crafts, including Talli and Al-Sadu weaving. Additionally, a popular food corner offered guests several traditional dishes, such as Luqaimat, Rigag bread, Harees, and Arabic coffee, alongside a Henna painting station. The event also featured a photo gallery, a virtual cultural heritage museum, and a folk arts troupe performing the Al Ayala art form.

The events saw significant attendance and enthusiastic engagement from the guests, who praised the vibrant atmosphere and celebrated the UAE’s remarkable journey of achievements, progress, and leadership, under the wise guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Their Highnesses – The Members of the Supreme Council and the Rulers of the Emirates.

The celebration highlighted the strength of bilateral relations between the UAE and India, showcasing their fruitful cooperation across cultural, social, economic, and diplomatic spheres, as well as the deep-rooted ties of friendship between the two nations.
