Children will join a reading session of “Memory for Sale,” a book about Judy and her unique journey of selling her belongings , including a special memory she wishes to let go of. The event will feature an interactive game and a drawing workshop, concluding with a book signing ceremony.

Dubai Municipality is hosting a discussion panel aimed at translating the findings of urban beautification studies into actionable strategies within our daily operational tasks through the analysis of studies, linking them to tasks, exchanging ideas, and measuring impact with the objective of enhancing urban humanization, improving the quality of life for Dubai residents, and fostering a culture of continuous reading and learning among employees.

Dubai Health Book Swap

Looking for a new read?
The Book Swap event is a great way to share the love of reading, promote literacy, and help bring communities together. At this event, you will be able to exchange a book you love for a book someone else adores .
You are welcome whether you are bringing one book to swap, more than one book, or no books at all! You are welcome to take up to two books from the swap.

**Guidelines**
We gratefully accept:
• New and used books
• Hardcover and paperback novels
• Non-fiction on all topics
• Children’s books
• Classics in excellent condition
• Rare and/or unusual books in good condition
• English and Arabic books for all age groups

We cannot accept:
• Books with major damage, such as torn or missing pages, writing, or scribbling
• Professional journals
• Encyclopedias or textbooks
• Computer manuals or magazines
• Condensed books (e.g., Reader’s Digest)
• Religious-themed books

Reading Parent Engagement

Parents will discover strategies to help children master the lifelong skill of reading. The session aims to enhance their understanding of reading, offer ideas for building children’s knowledge of letter sounds, and direct parents to resources for practicing these skills . Additionally, the session will highlight where to find books that will engage their child’s interests .

Ruqah Calligraphy

It is an artistic and educational experience that offers participants the opportunity to learn about the art of Arabic calligraphy and its secrets, focusing on how Arabic letters interact with one another in written texts.

The Pearl Diver’s Necklace and the Cowrie Necklace Story

Participants will dive into the rich maritime history of the Arabian Gulf and the ancient traditions of pearl diving through the tale of “The Pearl Diver’s Necklace and the Cowrie Necklace.” This story perfectly blends imagination with real-life challenges. They will explore scenes from the award-winning story recognized by the “Etisalat Award for Children’s Literature,” and they will also have the chance to write poetry and join a live drawing session. The event will conclude with a book signing ceremony.
