DROP EVERYTHING AND READ

We are conducting a Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) session where, for a period of 30 minutes, all staff in the school-teachers, administration, and support staff-pause all their duties and engage in silent reading. The session saw staff who have never stepped into the library to get a book visiting the library to borrow one. The librarians are to deliver books to those who didn’t have time to visit the library.

Free books

This event was organized to encourage employees to read and foster a reading culture in the workplace by distributing free copies of books. The initiative aims to motivate employees to broaden their knowledge and develop their skills through exposure to diverse content. It also seeks to create an environment that promotes communication and the exchange of ideas among colleagues regarding what they read. The event was well received by employees, who expressed their desire for similar initiatives to continue in order to enhance a spirit of learning and self-development.

The Quiet Corner

A quiet corner is being created within the organization, containing a variety of books with the aim of providing a comfortable space for employees to read and explore away from work pressures. This initiative aims to encourage employees to develop their skills and enhance their general knowledge, in addition to fostering a work environment that stimulates communication and the exchange of ideas.

Reading Hour

On the occasion of Reading Month, we launched the “Reading Hour” initiative, which aims to encourage reading and foster a culture of reading among employees. • About the initiative: Allocate one hour per week for reading, where you can choose any book or educational material that suits your interests. • Timing: One day each week.

Book Challenge Competition

The competition invites participants to read a specific book and create visual or written content that promotes the book and encourages others to read it. (Collaboration with Dar Al-Bayan Publishing or Masar Printing is possible.) The content can be a video, an article, or a creative drawing that represents the book. The top five participants will be honored after their submissions are reviewed by a judging panel selected by us.
