Literary Discussion & Reading

Coinciding with #ReadingMonth and in collaboration with the Sea of Culture Foundation, #SZBA organizes a special session as part of the “Literary Discussion & Reading” program , discussing “Geographical Names” by Dr. Khalifa Alromaithi, winner of the 2024 SZBA in the Development of Nations category. Mrs. Maryam Al-Ghafli, Director of the Sea of Culture Foundation, will moderate the session in the presence of the foundation’s members to discuss the book, which presents a unique study of geographical names in the UAE.

ٍShort Story Prize

In collaboration with HR, we’re introducing the “Short Story Prize” (for Khalifa University employees) to foster creativity and engagement among employees by encouraging them to express themselves through writing. It promotes a culture of reading and learning while providing an opportunity for personal development. The prize also enhances employee well-being by offering a fun and relaxing activity that helps relieve stress. Additionally, it recognizes and rewards talent, motivating employees and strengthening team interaction and community within the organization.

Take a book

With the participation of the school community, a library was established containing various books. Each individual can take the book they like, and it was placed in the school garden.

Reading Workshop

Organizing reading workshops for students during school hours. Practicing free reading through interactive workshops organized by the school library.

An exhibition for displaying manuscripts

Communicate with the relevant parties at the Juma Al Majid Centre for Culture and Heritage to organize an exhibition of ancient manuscripts at the Ras Al Khaimah Courts.

Reading is a Right for everyone. Let’s read together.

Readings for the school community in all its categories: administrative, technical, and teaching bodies. During the readings, the focus is on the specialized aspects of the categories of workers and cultural paths. Readers are asked to fill out a form to verify the reading material and submit it to the organizing category.

A Discussion with a writer

Hosting the writer Hashem Al-Wali and discussing his book, while providing the chance for a discussion with the audience.

Knowledge Journey in Reading Month

The Mounted Police Station’s activity titled “The Journey of Knowledge in the Month of Reading” represents the Mounted Police Station’s initiatives for National Reading Month in March 2025. The event consists of several components in which all employees must participate:
– Discussion of the book “The Forty Nawawi”: in a remote meeting on March 19, 2024.
– Quran Khatm Competition: A competition will be held among employees with prizes for the winners at the end of March.
– Reading Corner: Employees will have access to the reading corner in the Knights ‘ Tent during the month of March.
– Group Quran Reading Sessions: Group reading sessions will be organized in the Knights’ Tent.
– Library Enrichment: Employees are encouraged to contribute new books to the center’s library.
