Reading Challenge Initiative

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Reading Challenge Initiative, aimed at fostering a love for reading among students and developing their literacy skills. This exciting competition encourages students to explore books at their own reading levels while promoting a spirit of friendly competition across all grade levels.

At SAIS-Dubai, we believe that reading is the cornerstone of academic success and personal growth. Through this challenge, students will not only enhance their vocabulary and comprehension skills but also develop a lifelong passion for books. The initiative includes incentives to celebrate student achievements, such as weekly tracker boards to monitor progress, individual prizes, and section rewards for the most enthusiastic readers.

While the full details and rules of the competition will be shared with students via Google Classroom, we would like to highlight that the initiative emphasizes:
– Reading at the student’s appropriate Lexile level.
– Completing quizzes or book reports to track and validate progress.
– Encouraging teamwork and collaboration within grade sections.

To make this initiative a success, we need your support in motivating your child to participate wholeheartedly. You can help by:
– Setting aside daily time for reading at home.
– Encouraging your child to borrow books from the library.
– Discussing what they are reading to nurture their curiosity and comprehension.

The competition will run from February 17th to April 20th, culminating after the spring break. There will be individual prizes for top performers.
