Ministry Of Culture Pays Tribute To UAE Founding Father, The Late Sheikh Zayed

Amidst a huge audience and great interaction, the centers of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development across the country celebrated on Wednesday the Zayed Humanitarian Day which is marked annually to commemorate the late leader’s efforts in giving, charitable work and the help and support of others not only in the UAE but also all nations that need assistance. The Ministry’s centers, with the participation of a number of prominent figures from the UAE, organized a number of cultural discussions, sessions and lectures about Sheikh Zayed and his achievements in the humanitarian field, which created his unique personality on the global level, along with a number of art exhibitions that included a rare collection of pictures of Sheikh Zayed. “The Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, during his wise leadership of the UAE, has been able to build the renaissance and comprehensive development of the UAE, based on his vision for the UAE to reach an advanced status in the Arab region and the world. This status was achieved in a few years in all locations and at various levels, thanks to the loyalty of the people of the UAE who were provided with all the factors of development and progress including the support of knowledge, education, culture and youth.”, noted Her Excellency Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. Al-Sabri further explained that the Ministry, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, was keen to organize a number of events in its various cultural centers, through which it focused on introducing the new generation to the importance of humanitarian and community work as an added value of the UAE personality worldwide. Events also included reviews of the achievements of the Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the fields of humanitarian work on local and international levels. “ Zayed Humanitarian Day is the best way to commemorate the death of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and reflects the interest of our wise leadership in spreading the culture of volunteer social work in its finest forms during the days f the holy month of Ramadan. In line with this vision, the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, through its cultural centers, encourages all sectors of society to engage in volunteer and humanitarian work by participating in workshops and events organized by the Ministry throughout the year.”, pointed out Al Sabri. Al Sabri praised the huge attendance of the Zayed Humanitarian Day celebrations across all cultural centers, which had a great impact on the success of the activities in achieving its objectives, which includes promoting the values of goodness and giving which is an essential component of the UAE national character, in addition to spreading the culture of volunteerism and cooperation for the benefit of society and humanity in general, which the late Sheikh Zayed laid its foundations. On a related note, Her Excellency Azza Mohammed bin Sulaiman, Member of the Federal Council, said during the panel discussion organize din Ras Al Khaimah entitled “Zayed Al-Khair”, “Today the UAE remembers the founding father Sheikh Zayed and the country’s march towards enaissance, in addition to his prominent role in life we enjoy today both the citizens and residents of the UAE. His fingerprint and humanitarian work remain a model and an example that motivates us to follow his footsteps, his thoughts and approach which is still present not only in the minds and hearts of the people of the UAE, but in the hearts and minds of millions of other countries who have experienced his pioneering experience in various fields of life.” The panel discussion was also attended by Her Excellency Na’ama Abdullah Al-Sharhan, Member of the Federal Council and Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Humaidi. Her Excellency Na’ama Abdullah Al-Sharhan during the second part of the discussion entitled “Zayed and People, Zayed and Education” , on the other hand, highlighted the attitudes of Sheikh Zayed in building human beings through interest in education and providing all means of success to prepare a new educated generation, in addition to his keenness to attract qualified teachers from Arab countries to promote the level of education and to stress the important position and role of teachers in the UAE society. “Today is not a celebration of the memory of Sheikh Zayed because he still exists in the hearts of all the generations that have witnessed his era, but it is rather a good opportunity to introduce new generations and young people to this great leader who had a great impact on the life of his people and will always be remembered”, noted Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Al-Humaidi in the third part of the discussions entitled “Zayed and Safety”. Al-Humaidi added that the security and safety we enjoy in the UAE has been originally based on the foundations implanted by Sheikh Zayed in the people of the UAE including sincerity, determination and adherence to their authenticity and heritage, which is now completed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The Cultural Center of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in Al Dhafra organized a program to commemorate the anniversary of the Sheikh Zayed’s passing. The program included an opening speech that presented Sheikh Zayed as a symbol of goodness, giving, love, tolerance and humanitarian in the world. He will remain the “Humanitarian Leader” with the great heart due to his contributions in the service of humanity. Cultural Centers in Ajman, Masafi Fujairah and Dibba Fujairah all organized exhibitions entitled “The achievements of Zayed Al Khair” on Wednesday, 14 June 2017. The exhibitions included pictures of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the assistance provided by the United Arab Emirates under his directives to all countries of the world, in addition to a video presenting some of the most important quotes by the late Sheikh Zayed.
