Turning Pages, Shaping Future

As part of ADEK’s Reading Month 2025 initiative, our school is committed to fostering a strong reading culture across all learning cycles by integrating reading into the educational system through engaging, interdisciplinary activities focusing on seminars. Across the grades, cross-curricular reading is encouraged with digital reading challenges on Get Epic, Read Works, and Microsoft Teams, covering a diverse range of topics from science, history, and math. PISA-Ready Reading is also introduced to strengthen reading literacy with higher-order thinking tasks from Read Works and academic journals. The interactive platform RAZ A-Z is utilized to enhance literacy skills through a vast library of leveled books, comprehension quizzes, and engaging activities. Gamified challenges , reading challenges, and comprehension quizzes are provided, and progress is monitored by setting personalized goals for improvement. Twinkle is employed for reading comprehension through engaging exercises, vocabulary-building activities, and guided reading resources. For the Arabic Language Department’s initiative to enhance reading skills, the “Kutubee” platform has been adopted to support continuous reading and improve comprehension. The platform offers a wide selection of books tailored to students’ levels, complete with progress tracking features. Additionally, the Arabic Department has implemented the “Big Reads to Small” activity to encourage peer-to-peer reading support, as well as a weekly session in the “Alif” program to further develop reading skills.
